ABOUT THE ROLE
To provide high quality food service to customers and ensure the smooth running of all catering operations at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit/Visitor Centre including circuit events and function.
Full time position, hours include weekends, public holidays and functions as required.
No night shifts!
GENERAL ACTIVITIES:
- Effective food and beverage management across the circuit
- Food preparation, cooking and creative food presentation
- Responsible for portion control
- Assist with the development and costing of menus
- Stock control, ordering and cost management
- Assist with counter service as required
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL POSSESS:
- Successful completion of secondary education
- Certificate in Hospitality
- Trade Cooking Certificate (Cert III)
- Current Food Handling Certificate – Level 2 Supervisor
- Current Responsible Servicing of Alcohol (RSA)
- Barista Course*
- Knowledge of current food trends and produce
- Previous experience in a Catering Operations Supervisory role*
- Minimum 3 years cooking experience
*Preferred but not essential, training will be provided where required
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
The Circuit’s core business is hiring the facility to customers who promote and operate corporate driver/ride days and events including the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, Historic Cars, Shannons Nationals, Island Magic and the Australian Superbike Championship.
In addition, we promote and organise the Australian Round of the Superbike World Championship.
Other important aspects of the Circuit’s business include:
- Operation of a tourism facility and visitor centre including go karts and historic car and bike museum; and
- Hospitality food and beverage operations.
