While most of the Factory teams WorldSBK liveries have remained seemingly unchanged, Kawasaki Racing Team has taken the covers off their ZX-100RR’s to reveal their major livery change this season.
While KRT are already tackling big rider moves this season, their change of livery is yet another bold move from the factory team, that will this year host Alex Lowes, who will enter into his fifth season with the team, and their new recruit Axel Bassani.
There is no denying the challenges that were surfacing in Kawasaki’s garage in 2023, but with their new rider line-up and new team livery, KRT’s new era in WorldSBK is off to a bold start.
Kawasaki saw one of their toughest seasons in past years, managing only one victory that came from six-time World Champion Jonathan Rea in Most. Now, the Kawsaki Racing Team WorldSBK outfit are starting the 2024 Motul FIM Superbike World Championship with an entirely fresh start.
While Lowes remains with the team to begin his fifth season in green, there are some slight changes for the 33-year-old. With Rea departing from Kawasaki, Pere Riba will this year crew chief for Lowes in 2024, with his former crew chief Marcel Duinker working alongside new recruit Axel Bassani.
You could say the rider who capitalised the most out of the major WorldSBK grid shake-up was back-to-back Independent Teams’ Rider Champion Axel Bassani, jumping from the Ducati Manufacturer as an Independent Team Rider to a Factory seat with KRT.
